CoE-IHS Webinar: Integrating Peer Recovery Supports within Medical and Community Treatment Settings
Primary care and hospitals are often the first entry-point of care for people with substance use challenges, including those experiencing a drug overdose. Integrating peer recovery support in these settings can facilitate treatment and long-term recovery for people with substance use disorders (SUD).
Please join us and our experts in the field on Thursday, June 16, 2-3 p.m. ET, for our upcoming webinar, Integrating Peer Recovery Supports within Medical and Community Treatment Settings. This session will focus on two effective state models that have successfully integrated peer recovery support for people with SUDs:
- The Moms Do Care (MDC) Program provides medical care and substance use treatment, as well as mental health care for perinatal women with opioid use disorder (OUD). We will discuss how this program has increased engagement through service integration, patient-centered scheduling, care navigation and peer support.
- Maryland’s Comprehensive Hospital Substance Use Response Program will highlight the Mosaic Group’s “Reverse the Cycle” model. This model includes universal screening, peer intervention, intensive community-based outreach for high-utilizer patients and creating clinical interventions that leverage medications for OUD to initiate recovery in the hospital.
This webinar is created in partnership with the National Association of State Alcohol and Drug Abuse Directors (NASADAD). |
