SAMHSA Quality Measures – Session One

Clinic-collected Required Measures: I-SERV, SDoH, ASC

On Sept. 29, SAMHSA posted Quality Measures for Behavioral Health Clinics Technical Specifications and Resource Manual Preliminary Version September 2023, a preliminary version of the updated technical specifications for the Behavioral Health Clinic quality measures that will be used as part of the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) model. This version omits a subset of the measures; however, a final version will be released as soon as possible. In the meantime, we are moving quickly to begin technical assistance for the updated specifications.

To that end, SAMHSA and the National Council for Mental Wellbeing will be hosting a series of webinars related specifically to the clinic-collected measures. Webinars related to the state-collected measures and the reporting template will be scheduled separately.

We strongly recommend that current and prospective Section 223 Demonstration CCBHCs, as well as CCBHC-Improvement and Advancement (IA) grantees and CCBHC-Planning, Development and Implementation (PDI) grantees, ensure appropriate representation at the webinars. We also recommend that current and prospective Section 223 Demonstration states have at least one state representative present as well.
