Anthony Carter, LCSW-C

Anthony Carter (he/him/his) leads initiatives for advancing the mental health and substance use treatment workforce. Prior to joining the National Council, he served as the data and quality assurance manager for Montgomery County, Md., Child Welfare Services, where he was responsible for agency data collection, analysis and reporting of key performance indicators. He started with Montgomery County as a child protective services social worker investigating child abuse and neglect allegations and is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW-C) in Maryland. Prior to his career in social work, Carter was a program manager at Public Allies, a national workforce development and social justice nonprofit that advances new leadership to strengthen communities, nonprofits and civic participation.
