Implementing Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment for Youth: Survey Results Across Settings
This report describes the results of a 2016 survey disseminated by Abt Associates to better understand the various approaches to implementation of youth SBIRT utilized across the Hilton Foundation’s grantees. Survey respondents included staff working in medical settings, school-based health centers, and community-based programs. The findings are compared to evidence-based practices in SBIRT and examples of SBIRT implementation from grantees across various settings are highlighted throughout. Survey respondents indicated that grantees are making significant progress in implementing SBIRT and while there is an increased need for evidence-based practices, grantee implementation efforts are contributing to the literature on SBIRT implementation.
