Project Amp is a young adult peer-based substance use prevention and early intervention program designed to prevent and reduce substance use among low to moderate risk youth. Project Amp supports the goals of state substance use directors by expanding connections to peer support and enhancing key prevention and early intervention strategies. Project Amp is flexible and scalable: it can be implemented in schools, health care settings, or community-based organizations, can be implemented as a part of SBIRT, or universal or targeted substance use prevention programs, and is powered by trained young adult peer mentors. The State Systems Integration Brief further discusses how Project Amp can support the goals of state substance use directors.
