Pandemic Impact and Workforce Wellbeing Strategies
Join the National Council for Mental Wellbeing on Thursday, July 28, from 2-3:30 p.m. ET for “Pandemic Impact and Workforce Wellbeing Strategies,” a SAMHSA sponsored two-part webinar series, on Thursday, July 28, 2-3:30 p.m. ET (Part One) and Friday, July 29, 2-3 p.m. ET (Part Two).
A national workforce shortage has left mental health and substance use treatment organizations struggling to meet an increased demand for services. A recent survey revealed that nearly all National Council for Mental Wellbeing member organizations are experiencing difficulty with recruitment and retention of employees due to occupational burnout from COVID-19, administrative barriers and historically low compensation rates.
Clinical transformation and innovation are essential to address the workforce crisis and ensure that those in need continue to receive high quality mental health and substance use care, especially people living with chronic conditions, such as severe mental illness.
This webinar will cover the current mental health and substance use treatment landscape, the impact of collective trauma on our workforce, how it impacts the broader field and how clinical and organizational mitigation strategies can ease the immense burden on our workforce.
After attending the webinar, you’ll be able to:
- Identify the recruitment and retention challenges facing mental health and substance use disorder (SUD) treatment providers in the wake of COVID-19.
- Understand the impact of collective trauma and burnout on our workforce.
- Explore strategies to navigate clinical and organizational challenges, improve staff wellbeing and leverage systems-level innovations.
